We recommend that you always disable the feature, “Automatic Update,” “Printer Update” or “HP Update” to help prevent future lock-outs when using rechargeable ink cartridges. In general, when this happens, a message such as “Cartridge error: missing or damaged cartridge,” “cartridge problem,” or a similar message will be displayed when using rechargeable ink cartridges that have an installed replacement chip. The most recent HP printers can receive firmware updates (installed manually by the customer or automatically) that can lock the cartridge chip and prevent printing. We strongly recommend that you take the time to read this article and make sure that your printer has automatic updates disabled. These updates often have no benefit to the end user and are simply provided to combat the use of generic cartridges by making them unrecognizable by the printer once the update is installed. Most of the time, these updates are installed without the user even knowing about them. Printer manufacturers such as Brother, Epson, HP, and Lexmark update most of their printer software automatically on a regular basis. Click on the Terminal window, and press enter. Drag the file titled ADB-Install-Mac.sh to the Terminal window. Open the Terminal application by going to Applications > Utilities, or by pressing ⌘ + space and typing “ Terminal” into Spotlight. Once it has finished extracting, double click on the new unzipped folder. Extract the installer’s zip file by double clicking on it. Open your Mac’s web browser, and download ADB from this link: ADB Installer (Mac). 
Finally, it will ask Do you want to install device drivers? Type “ N“, and hit Enter. Next, it will ask Install ADB system-wide? Type “ Y“, and hit Enter. The installer will ask Do you want to install ADB and Fastboot? Type “ Y“, and hit Enter. Open the installer once it has finished downloading. 
Open a web browser, and download the ADB Installer from this link: ADB Installer (Windows). Below are the steps necessary to install it on both Windows and Mac computers. The next step is to make sure you have the Android DebugBridge installed on your computer if you don’t already have it. Make a note of the entire string of numbers, as they are all needed later. In most cases, it will be something like 192.168.1.XX (where XX is the number assigned to the Fire Stick). The IP address of your Fire Stick will be shown on the right of the screen. Scroll to the right and select My Fire TV (it might be Device or System on Fire Sticks running an older version of the interface). As before, go to the Fire TV Stick’s home screen and select Settings.
